Why Move to Stay Healthy?

According to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada

Inactivity is linked to a higher risk of heart disease, stroke and the many disabilities they can cause.

In addition, lack of activity may increase our risk for:

  • high blood pressure
  • high cholesterol
  • type 2 diabetes
  • osteoporosis
  • certain types of cancer
  • obesity
  • falls and injuries
  • depression
We can significantly reduce these risks when we accumulate at least 150 minutes of moderate- to vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity per week.
That's the equivalent of about 20-30 minutes of cardio a day
Still seems like a little much?
The activity doesn't have to be non-stop, such as an aerobics class. You can do 10 minutes or more at a time throughout the day to reach your daily total too.
We enjoy the 15 minute workout provided by Alo Moves in the Mornings.
